In Greek mythology, Orpheus, the god of music, journeyed into the underworld to bring back what was lost. His music was so powerful that it softened the hearts of gods and spirits, guiding him through darkness toward the light.

 

Project Orpheus Rising takes its name from this timeless story. Just as Orpheus used music to navigate the depths, many of our veterans face their own descent into PTSD, depression, isolation, or moral injury.

Our mission is to use music as a modality, transforming rhythm, cultural heritage, and lyric exploration into pathways to connectedness.

 

Through Project Orpheus Rising, The Washington Tattoo helps veterans reclaim identity, renew purpose, and rebuild meaningful community, rising together from the silence of isolation back into the light.
