SSG(R) Miguel Sierra is an accomplished Army Veteran from Cleveland, Ohio with over 10 years of active-duty experience as a 68X (Behavioral Health Specialist), Suicide Prevention Coordinator, Provider Resiliency Support Program Manager, Drug and Alcohol Counselor, and Sexual Assault Victim Advocate. During his distinguished service, SSG Sierra conducted over 900 suicide prevention trainings across the National Capital Region, including Fort Belvoir, Quantico MCB, The Pentagon, Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall, and Hawaii's Schofield Barracks and Tripler Army Medical Center.

 

After being medically retired in 2017, Miguel continued to leverage his expertise in the civilian sector, empowering and motivating organizations, schools, and communities to ensure that their employees and members achieve their fullest potential. Miguel is a passionate advocate for Suicide Prevention and has been conducting workshops for various military units, schools, youth leadership, and community organizations, including The Marion Barry Leadership Academy, Old Dominion University, Jack and Jill of America, The University of South Florida, Daytona State College, and the National Association of Diversity Officers in Higher Education.

 

In October 2021, Miguel returned to his military roots by joining Fort George G. Meade as their Suicide Prevention Program Manager. Here, his role has taken him to the frontline of the battle against suicide, where he is tasked with overseeing the training of military personnel in suicide prevention, intervention, reintegration and postvention techniques. In addition to this, Miguel aspires to create a culture of compassion, support, and connectedness throughout the military community. Miguel is a passionate and dedicated professional who excels in everything he does and continues to make a positive impact on the lives of those he touches.
